From Sewage Biosolids to Biofuel

The PCS Hydrothermal process for the production of biofuel can be used to convert bio-solids from sewage.  TruSense Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd. of South  Africa investigated the use of our process and compared it to competing processes and the status quo. The result: PCS Biofuel process produced the best results and was shown to the the best value.

Their report (Mustovo, 2017) gives a good understanding of the PCS process and how it can be integrated into a sewage treatment plant to save energy and reduce the final disposal costs of the bio-solids that remain at the end of traditional primary and secondary treatment.

"The emerging PCS technology has demonstrated at laboratory and pilot scale that it offers unique advantages over the established sludge processing technologies. The cost benefit analysis has also demonstrated that out of the 3 technologies that have been reviewed, it is the most economically attractive for the selected case study. In addition the technology has potential to play a huge role in waste management because of its ability to process a wide range of biomass."
